Hi, I’m Monica

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) committed to helping clients make small shifts in the ways they interact with others that lead to an increase in their quality of life and relationships. :) I specialize in working with:

  • Families - teenagers and their parents/guardians who are experiencing stress and tension in their relationships and are at their limit looking for relief.

  • Couples - partners who are unsure about their future together, feeling stuck in their relationship, or looking to reconnect and reignite their passion for one another in new ways.

  • Individuals - folks who are neurospicy little weirdos struggling with their stage of life, identity, and/or figuring out where they fit in in this world and are looking for support. :)

I’m passionate about helping clients reconnect with themselves, their strengths, and the people they love most through relational therapy together.

M.S. Marriage and Family Therapy | LMFTA

I received my Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. I currently hold a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate license (License # MG61573415) and work under the supervision of Astrik Price (LF60987612).

I utilize Collaborative Therapy for the majority of my work, and I am Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed for trauma-specific work with individuals.

I have experience working with families, couples, and individuals in a therapeutic setting and have a passion for helping people thrive in the context of their relationships with themselves and others!

My Approach

I practice Collaborative Therapy, a human-to-human approach that focuses on the strengths, knowledge, and resources clients have available to them despite their struggles. I believe we are all doing the best we can with the skills, resources, and support we have available to us, and that the systems we are a part of can have a huge impact on our functioning and overall health. I feel honored to walk alongside clients in vulnerable spaces offering my own personal and professional experience as a part of the process.

I am trained in Systems Therapy. I focus on the unique systems my clients are a part of (their family systems, cultural systems, societal systems, internal systems). I believe that the systems we are a part of contribute to how we show up in relationships, and that making small changes to the system can cause long-lasting change!

Being aware of the systems I am actively a part of as a practicing therapist, I strive to offer therapy that is non-pathologizing and acknowledges the harmful systems of violence and oppression of specific groups of people in our society. I am aware of these system’s presence in the field of psychotherapy and how I as a therapist participate in them, and I talk about these themes openly with clients as it feels applicable.

I work hard to create a welcoming and accepting environment for my clients. I believe your trust in me must be earned, and I’m honored to put the work in by offering a gentle, curious, and authentic approach to our work together.

Outside of Therapy

I find so much value in showing up as my authentic self in my role as a therapist and feel there is so much to be gained in knowing your therapist as a human, too! I may be a therapist, but I am also a wife, a mom, a daughter and sister who carries her own generational struggles, and an active community member and advocate. I have volunteered with youth for over a decade and find the generations after me to be so inspiring (and hilarious).

I have my own experiences with neurodivergence and mental health struggles and understand the complexity that managing these things can bring to our lives. I have been a client of therapy for many years and can relate to some of how it may feel to sit in your chair, so to speak!

In my free time, I enjoy movement and exercise, being outdoors with my family (in the sun when I can find it), creating art, listening to music, and watching cheesy sitcoms and reality TV. I have practiced a lot of the tools we will talk about in session, and am grateful for the opportunity to sit across from and learn from so many unique individuals through my therapy work!

The Space

A preview of the office space I provide for our in-person sessions. My office is ADA accessible with a ramp entrance to the building, a floor-level office and a small hallway providing access to it.

Still not sure if we’d be a good fit?
